Where AI cut-out shines — and where it struggles
The model works best when the subject is clearly separated from the background: a person, product, animal or object with defined edges against a reasonably contrasting scene. In those cases the cut-out is crisp and ready to use. It tends to struggle with fine and ambiguous edges — flyaway strands of hair, fur, fuzzy fabric, motion blur, and especially transparent or reflective things like glass, water and thin wire frames, where there is no firm line between subject and background.
If an edge comes out rough, a higher-resolution photo with a plain, well-lit background usually gives the AI more to work with. The output is always a transparent PNG, because PNG supports an alpha channel; that transparency is what lets you layer the subject onto any color, gradient or photo afterwards.
Is it private?
Yes. Most online background removers upload your photo to a remote server to do the work, which means your image — and anything visible in it — passes through someone else's machine. browserpix is different: the AI model is downloaded once and then runs entirely in your browser.
